Started the first series of “Town Halls” by a local elected official in Boone.

Worked alongside Town of Boone staff in the immediate days after Hurricane Helene to aid in recovery efforts.

Established the Human Relations Commission, a Town Board charged with addressing prejudice in our community.

Made the motion to make Boone the first carbon-neutral municipality in North Carolina.

Protected our neighborhoods while exploring zoning reform to encourage better, safer, and more affordable housing.

Worked to begin the comprehensive plan process, which is now close to adoption, providing a better vision and path for the Town and its growth in the future.

Started the “Boone 1872” award with the intention of uplifting the many amazing people who make our Town what it is today.

Re-worked Public Comment (hybrid and time) to make Boone’s government more accessible.

Addressed predatory towing and booting practices.

Funded part of the expansion of Boone’s Skatepark.

Adopted Boone’s future Climate Action Plan, a comprehensive policy tool outlining specific actions that a community will undertake to reduce GHG emissions and/or adaptation strategies the community will implement to counter the negative effects of climate change.

Helped establish Boonerang.

Began the process for the Hellbender mural in downtown Boone.

One of the forces behind Boone’s Airbnb Regulation, protecting neighborhoods and working-class housing stock.

Worked for the adoption of Boone’s Historic District, preserving much of the character of the Town that’s recently come under pressure.
